O God You Search Me

O God you search me and you know me,

All my thoughts lie open to your gaze.
When I walk or lie down you are before me:
Ever the maker and keeper of my days.

You know my resting and my rising.
You discern my purpose from afar,
And with love everlasting you besiege me:
In every moment of life and death, you are.

Before a word is on my tongue, Lord,
You known it’s meaning all the way through,
You are with me beyond my understanding:
God of my present, past and future, too.

Although your spirit is upon me,
Still I search for shelter from your light.
There is nowhere on earth I can escape you:
Even the darkness is radiant in your light.

For you created me and shaped me,
Gave me life within my mother’s womb.
For the wonder of who I am I praise you:
Safe in your hands, all creation is made new.

#ShortNews : Build your lives on the rock of Christ, Pope tells youth

At the conclusion of outdoor Mass in the Albanian capital of Tirana, Pope Francis delivered a brief Angelus address in which he called upon the nation’s youth to build their lives on the rock of Christ.

“They say that Albania is the most youthful country of Europe, and I address you in particular,” Pope Francis said. “I invite you to build your lives on Jesus Christ: the one who builds on Christ builds on rock, because he is always faithful, even if we sometimes lack faith. Jesus knows us better than anyone else; when we sin, he does not condemn us but rather says to us, ‘Go and sin no more.’”

“With the power of the Gospel and the example of your ancestors, of your martyrs, you know how to say ‘No’ to the idolatry of money, ‘No’ to the false freedom of individualism, ‘No’ to addiction and to violence; you also know how to say ‘Yes’ to a culture of encounter and of solidarity, ‘Yes’ to the beauty that is inseparable from the good and the true; ‘Yes’ to a life lived with great enthusiasm and at the same time faithful in little things,” he added.

#ShortNews : Jordan’s king denounces violence against Christians

Addressing the United Nations General Assembly, King Abdullah II of Jordan, a ruler known for his commitment to interreligious dialogue, denounced violence against the Middle East’s Christians.

“The terrorists and criminals targeting Syria, Iraq, and other countries today are extreme reflections of a global threat,” he said. “Our international community needs a collective strategy to contain and defeat these groups.”

“The teachings of true Islam are clear: sectarian conflict and strife are utterly condemned,” he added. “Islam prohibits violence against Christians and other communities that make up each country. Let me say once again: Arab Christians are an integral part of my region’s past, present, and future.”

#ShortNews : Self-sacrifice, not money, brings joy, says Pope

In an address to workers at an Albanian center for the care of children, Pope Francis said that joy comes through self-sacrifice.

“We see how faith brings light and hope in situations of grave hardship; we observe how faith is rekindled in hearts touched by the Spirit of Jesus who said, ‘Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me,’” Pope Francis said. “This faith, working through charity, dislodges the mountains of indifference, of disbelief and of apathy, and opens hands and hearts to work for what is good and share this experience. Through humble gestures and simple acts of service to the least among us, the Good News that Jesus is risen and lives among us is proclaimed.”

“Goodness is its own reward and draws us closer to God, who is the Supreme Good,” he continued. “It helps us to think like him, to see our lives in the light of his plan of love for each one of us, and enables us to delight in life’s daily joys, helping us in difficulties and in trials. Goodness offers infinitely more than money, which only deludes, because we have been created to receive the love of God and to offer it, not measuring everything in terms of money or power.”

“The secret to a good life is found in loving and giving oneself for love’s sake,” the Pope added. “From here comes the strength to ‘sacrifice oneself joyfully,’ and thus the most demanding work is transformed into a source of a greater joy.”

CYMERA_20140928_160003DSC_1740CYMERA_20140928_154310 it was a special day because my friend was going to meet me at that church, on the 10:45am Mass. it means, i had to wake up very early in the morning to get there. it was sunday, i supposed to wake up late but this time i woke up at 7 and somehow i felt ready for my long journey. 😀

my streetdirectory suggested me to took bus 971e. i spent around 15 minutes and the bus never came. #selfnote : never take that 971e!!!! so i had to quick change to plan B, which was bus 67, but that bus usually have a slow driver and i was afraid i couldn’t make it on time–i hate being late! so i took plan C; mrt and bus ride.

i arrived at the church 30 minutes before the Mass started. i walked around the church but couldn’t find anything interesting. i wasted my time few more minutes around the gift shop to wait my friend. she finally arrived with her parents, and we went inside the church together. there was nothing so special about this church. everything was fine. only the altar was look like one of the altar’s church i went before but i don’t remember which church. i found these interesting green tiles in front of the altar.

and here’s the official web of this church: http://www.queenofpeace.sg/

18 Most Surprising Things Pope Francis Has Done

When he was archbishop of Buenos Aires, Pope Francis was known to sneak out at night to break bread with the homeless. He would sit when them in the street and eat with them, just to let them know someone cares.

Now that he is Pope, sneaking out is not that easy to do, but Pope Francis is still doing an amazing job of showing love and charity to the poor, sick, and elderly.

When Pope Francis was named Time magazine’s person of the year in 2013, many people were surprised. The first non-European pope in 1,200 years was suddenly everywhere and he is set to place some amazing changes in the church.

Since Pope Francis stepped into power he has done some truly amazing things. Please check out the list below and then SHARE it to spread some joy today!
